What a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday .

Dear Bloggers,

My wishes for all of you are that you had a great, safe family time together this this Thanksgiving season.

The most happy times for mom and dad are when the married "children" come home with their own families.  We had a great family gathering as we celebrated Ed's and my 69th wedding anniversary, and Doug and Mary's 22nd wedding anniversary.
God is soooo good.  My breast cancer has been in remission for more than two years now.  I am so thankful for the wonderful support system, many many friends and other cancer survivors, email buddies, cyber "pom tree" clients have been so faithful with daily encouraging messages.  All the thoughts and prayers...

Today is a great day 8-13-2012

Hi bloggers,
Have not been in touch in so long.medical challenges have been acting up but things are getting better.  My breast cancer which came back after 5 and 1/2 years is still in remission and that's a good thing. My husband Ed is slowly recovering from two major surgeries he had this past quarter.  I know everyone has their own challenges my family has adapted the slogan KEEP LOOKING UP  COUNTING OUR BLESSINGS.

All the emails are so very encouraging on these long days inside, but on the days we are able to go to the swimming pool for our version of the water aerobics, gives me an opportunity to interact with lovely ladies that are fighting similar health challenges, We are an encouragement to each other .

I hope you all are enjoying the beautiful array of fresh summer vegetables.  We don't garden any more but we have a small farmers market on our town square each Saturday morning. Ed has been able to go most weeks.

If you haven't checked out my website lately please check it out. www.pom-poms.com The pomtree, and super pomtree are doing well. Thanks to all my cyber friends.
until tomorrow,

Water aerobics 3rd day 6/5/2012

Hi bloggers,
Our experiences with new friends at the fitness center are so refreshing after having been incapasitated for so long.  I'm so inspired by all these ladies and yes the few men who are like Ed and I working so hard for a new lease on a healthy life style....all trying to avoid the medical doctors.  As I move about doing my own thing my creative mind is thinking of ways I might encourage my blogger friends who are living with the "Big C" or who have loved ones living with cancer Never give up, because of a diagonis Please Do Not Lie Down And Play Dead Life Is For The Living. I have accomplished so many of my dreams since 7-5-2010, and now my hope is that you, too will live to see your dreams become a reality.
Cancer is no respecter of persons...it can rear its ugly head at the most inopertune times.  Alice's website www.pom-poms.com  is doing great.  When my breast cancer after 5 1/2 years, matasticised in my lungs that was a blow for which we were not ready.  The diagnosis 4 to six months to live was devestating news for Ed and me.  We cried in each others arms for two hours and decided to seek God's guidance in dealing with this, the biggest challenge of our 65 plus happy years of marriage.  I was diagnosed on 7-5- 2010 and today's date is 6-5-2012.  God must have work for us to do.  Our little home business is the focal point to our missions both Foreign and Home missions.... Check it out.
Until tomorrow,

1st day back to water theopy 6- 4-2012

What an exciting time with all the new friends I met at 9:00 0'clock A:M on this Monday morning, It was not easy getting up and out so early and getting back into the swing of things.
I did so miss all my old friends at the YMCA, but these new ladies will help to fill the void
After 22 plus years at the YMCA pool, of track,  weights, swimming, and water aerobics I felt just a little  disappointed but after all those years and the deterioration of our health we are so fortunate to find a pool close to our home where we can just put our feet in the water and kick around abit.
Good things are happing!!! As some of you know I have a website www.pom-poms.com check me out.
I will be posting examples of my crochet patterns, articles I've written. and many other tidbits in my blog possts as I become stronger.  The breast cancer after 5and1/2  reared its ugly head again, matstacised  in  my lungs, however it has been in remission almost a year, but my body demands much rest.
With the water theorypy I think I will be back to my old self soon. I hope you will follow my blog. I have so much to share as I,

Blogging again June1, 2012

Hello Everyone,
It has been so long since I blogged but I promise to do better. The Alice and Ed Hyche family has had so many health challenges since mid January. My dear Ed has had two major surgeries. and two stints of 20 days each in rehab.  My stress level has been so high I have had difficulty functioning as a living human being. Our house took on many changes in the last 4 months.  Our wonderful sons Doug and Dwight, juggled  their employment schedules so that one of them could be home with me, their cancer ridden mom all the time.  What a Blessing children are!!!
I had 2 pet scans during this period. and my breast cancer which reared its ugly head on October 5,2010 after 5 1/2 years with a diagonosis 0f  4to 6 months to live is still in remission.  My God just keeps sending the Hyches one miracle after another. Our GOD is an awesome  GOD.....
Today has been a wonderful day!!!! Ed and I are starting back swimming and water aerobics tomorrow Saturday morning at 9:0'clock after 5 months in lift chairs. Happy Days are here again.
Until tomorrow,

My Day 1-11-012

Hi Bloggers,

What a special day this has been for me. I was awakened this AM believing something good is going to happen today. Ed and I went to the mall for a very short time, and when we returned I had a message that a special friend would like to come visit tomorrow.

We had only been home a short time when our good friend Carolyn from our YMCA group called with the most pleasant surprise!!  The group is planning a lunch party on Monday of next week.  One of our group lives in UP State New York in the summer and comes to live with her son in Atlanta for the winter, she is 92 years young .  Today was her first day for aerobics.
She and I spent much of our class time together in the shallow end of the pool visiting.
She asked about me,  so the class decided on the spur of the moment  to bring her to see me.
We have a lunch date on Monday in Roswell.... What an honor!!!!  I'm so excited !!! I haven't seen some of these folk in awhile.  There is nothing like old friends getting together.

My Day 1-9-012

Hi Bloggers,

What a blessed day it has been for me my email buddies, telephone calls, and a message from one of my special cyber friends have made my day.  Friends are so special.

Susan took her family to a museum in Madison, WI last week.  She described all the  the activities they enjoyed together so well that it brought back  many pleasant memories of the many visits my family and I made to special museums  while traveling in the USA and Europe. American History has always been my  favorite subject.

When God blessed us with our first son it was my desire to take him to our nation's capital every five years so that he would appreciate our country's history...

That goal I set for Doug so many years ago has truly paid off for him.  He is truly a history buff.  When all the family are here visiting and watching Television, he sneaks the remote control and bores all the others with the history channel.

Museums have always have been very special to him.  He spends hours reading monuments. We have often laughed at my mathematician husband's interest in museums he can go through a museum in five minutes. I think he could cover the Smithsonian in thirty  minutes.give or take a few.

I hope your day has been as special as mine.
